You Are Here: Exploring Human Evolution
This exhibit, created collaboratively by Paleontological Research Institution, Tompkins County Public Library, Cornell University and Ithaca College, presents the clues scientists have uncovered about our evolutionary past. Discover your evolutional family tree, learn about the lives of our hominin ancestors through skulls, stone tools and other artifacts, and find out the six key trends that have made humans the most cooperative species on the planet.
This exhibit will be on display in the Avenue of the Friends through the end of February. Also on display will be the mixed media exhibit “On Being Human” curated by Terry Plater and featuring the work of ten local artists. In addition check out “cave painting” by local students in Youth Services.
Entry to the Library after closing time at 6 PM is through the BorgWarner door behind the bus shelter on Green Street.

Uniit Carruyo, Harmonic Seascapes
Uniit’s large mixed media paintings of acrylic, ink, fiber, light and glass convey abstract landscapes underwater. Striving to create harmony made visible, Uniit combines texture, color and movement to resolve a visual chord. Her multi-layered pieces represent the many layers of experience necessary for living with an open heart in a complex world; a cacophony of disparate elements seeking resolution. Please stop by!
Thank you to the Tompkins Trust Company for sponsoring all 2016 & 2017 ArtSpace exhibits!
