Easy Living Hats Spring Collection, 5:00 to 8:00 pm

Handwork welcomes local hat maker Olivia Royale of Easy Living Hats for a night of classic styling. Hats have always been a timeless statement piece and Olivia’s handcrafted Sun Hats and Cotton Summer Hats are the perfect way to welcome the warmer seasons. Olivia will be onsite, making hats and selling her Spring Collection.  Get a free styling consultation, hat fitting, and photo portrait! Olivia crochets each hat one-by-one using high quality cotton yarn. Unlike store bought and blocked hats, Easy Living Hats will stretch to fit any size, pack flat for travels, and come in a variety of earth tones for all seasons.  Bring Mom too; A classic Sun hat makes a great Mother’s Day Gift!

Laurel O’Brien Ithaca Inspired Jewelry, 6:00 to 8:00 pm

Ithaca artist and Handwork Member Laurel O’Brien will be demonstrating a mix of metal-smithing and jewelry making techniques in-store. She will show the steps involved in hand drawing on metal, setting up and sawing out a design in metal. She will also show how she uses her hammers to create texture and form. Perhaps most inspiring to Laurel’s work are the little things. Images of pebbles, leaves and twigs tend to show up in her work in various ways.
